Get to know me

Who i am

I've had teaching experience since then, working in a few schools in Caparica and Carcavelos, coaching surfers from their first contact with the sport to an intermediate level of their evolution. Head coach for 5 years at one of Caparica's leading schools, hosting, coordinating and leading the operation.

Hey there, I'm Miguel Reis. I was born in Lisbon, but I've always been a regular on the beaches of Costa da Caparica, the place where I first came into contact with wave-riding sports. In 2015, I decided to take the Surf and Performance Postgraduate course at the Lusófona University, obtaining a professional certificate as a Sports Coach in the Surfing, recognized by the Portuguese Federation of Surf.

My vision and values

From my point of view, surfing is one of the best things we can do on this planet, however, what makes it special is the fact that it has some constraints and it may not always be "accessible", even when we really want to. That is, the conditions are not always good for practicing. Nature in its purest form. My idea of creating this project is largely because of this, and the experience I gained in the schools where I worked. Surfing doesn't have to be "arduous", in fact, it's totally the opposite. So the concept is, we'll only go if the conditions justify it, guaranteed experience and fun, feeling that your investment was worth it! That's why I want to go.

My Mission

Sharing experiences, developing technical skills, or instilling in new practitioners my passion for this sport/lifestyle. My mission is based on trying to inspire surfers of all ages and levels of experience, creating memories and good moments.

Surfing is fun and frustration at times, and they are directly proportional, there's no getting around that. But as I usually say, surfing is so addictive that when we have a bad session, all we want is to go back as soon as possible to forget about it... when the surfing is good, the instinct is the same, to return as quickly as possible because it's never enough.

Where I surf

You can catch me at Praia Cabana do Pescador, nestled along the stunning Costa da Caparica, just 20 minutes from Lisbon. Situated within the protected landscape of the Arriba Fóssil da Costa da Caparica, this spot boasts consistency, friendliness, and ease for both learning and honing your surfing skills in the Lisbon area.
